Blog EntryLet's Talk About Stuff BabyFeb 15, '08 8:15 AM
for everyone

Yay! Finally, my favorite day of the week-FRIDAY!!! What does Friday mean to me? Hmmm... Let's see... Since Friday is the last conventional workday and schoolday of the week it's extra special at Casa del fugi. For approximately nine kid-free hours I get to:

  • wrap up loose ends such as appointment setting and rounds of professional email tag
  • set into place necessary elements for an enjoyable, family-friendly weekend
  • focus on beginning or completion of domestic matters like laundry and intensive meal prep
  • run errands sans company of militant midgets... post offce, pharmacy, grocery store, thrift store drop-offs and so forth
  • center and recharge before the onset of 62 variable hours' worth of dedicated Mommy duty

Today though, promises to bring at least one highly anticipated sigh of relief: the dot com should be back online. Not that there's been much time to do anything constructive with it yet, but it's a blessing to have that one safety valve where I can be as rantastic© as occasionally needed- strictly on my terms. Sometimes it's that single outlet which enables me to play nicely when dealing with the rest of Cyberia and the Big Room. A brother of the heart had likened blogging to "free therapy." He was right on some levels, you know. ;oD

Hey- Has anyone else ever had a term named after them? Just curious... Happy Friday, friends!

Blog EntryCYA # 01: A brief lesson on human nature.Nov 11, '07 9:45 AM
for everyone

For anyone who might want/need to contact me over the next few days, please see the notice in my guestbook, thanks. Now, before last night's pain shot from the ER completely wears off... The following is an exerpt of my reply re: my participation and/or personal interactions here in Cyberia. Word to the wise... Attempting to back-stab me or mine is never a good idea. ;oD

"Baby, you nailed it. I don't have time for petty vindictive bullshit, either. I'm not mentioning ANY names. But suffice it to say that you're not one of them. Never were. Doubt you ever could be, hon. Just watch your back, please? Some folks aren't who/what they'd like to think they pass themselves off as, ya know?

"If your gut instincts go into lockdown mode where any individual/group is concerned, trust that feeling. Our gut instincts are seldom wrong. It's our hearts (sentimental & sometimes too lenient/forgiving) and our brains (will over-analyze anything into unproductive & dangerous circles) that tend to trip us up, big time."

Well, my friends... That's about all the computer time my pain tolerance will allow this morning. Starting to get shooting pains down my legs again, and that ain't the half of it. Looks like I'm going to be doing a lot of knitting this weekend. Gentle {{{hugs}}} for those who want 'em. Ciao for now...

Blog EntryI'm debating...Nov 5, '07 2:10 PM
for everyone

... whether or not I should just start archiving nearly three years worth of assorted blogs on my forum? A few years ago Spymac screwed over what was once a thriving blogging and forums community. And conventional blogging communities, like Live Journal, continue to be under siege, content-wise, from both within and without. No thank you. Then there are a few "blurb-o-blogs" scattered at places like MySpace, Tribe.net and Y! 360.

Many Y! 360 refugees have opted to transfer their entire 360 blogs here to Multiply. Kudos,  to our wonderful new hosts here at Multiply for graciously making this feature available. But when assaulted with daily parades of everyone's old entries, in my mind it begs the question:

Is completely transferring anyone's entire blog really worth it?

Only two 360 blogs immediately come to my mind.

Forgive me if I seem cold and callous. Personally, I never took Y! 360 very seriously as a blogging service. And honestly, I *know* that many of my entries there were abject crap. Hey- at least I've got the cojones to admit it. Could you be that objective in regards to your own entries?

Thanks for hearing me out. During the time (and household interruptions) it's taken to compose this entry I've made a decision. I'm not transferring my 360 blatherings here to Multiply. I don't want to become yet another re-hash of what belongs in the past. To me, it's like leaving last night's dirty dinner dishes on the same table where a magnificent feast is about to be enjoyed. Now, who in the hell would want to subject themselves or their friends to that?!? ;oD

Love youze guys. Ciao for now.
